Spectacular Saigon!

Yet again, another amazing destination has been added on my travel list. My first impression about the country is far from what I read online... Believe me, in every places I go, I usually read about people's testimonials, most of these posts is all about warning traveler of the dangers, the pickpockets, of the ripoffs and the lasting impression about the Vietnam war. The thoughts of reading all this negativity was quite upsetting. I felt my safety was seriously at risk

Finally, I landed safely in "Saigon" a predecessor to a city now known as Ho Chi Minh. All that first impression I read online was completely gone the moment I stepped into the Immigration and being greeted warmly by a Custom officer. Once, I got out of the airport, the first thing that I love is a warm weather which is pretty good compared to an intense and humid Abu Dhabi.

I know language will be a disadvantage so I requested for an airport pick up from Pink Tulip Hotel - it is a gay friendly hotel in Ho Chi Minh which I booked for 3 days to avoid all that hassles and haggling.  I stayed in District 1 - a place for backpackers and mostly tourist area, it is the safest place in the city and a home for hundreds of neighboring bars which makes the night lively and crowded.

On my second day in Vietnam, I met two locals named Mhin and Phat, they were really accommodating and let me ride in their scooters while exploring the city. There are thousands of scooters in the city and they move through the congested streets of Vietnam where traffic rules does not apply. It was pretty insane yet I enjoyed every bit of it

My short holiday experience in Saigon changed my perspective about the country and the people, of course there will always be a dark side in every side of the world but hey, a little bit of extra care and understanding about their cultures and norms did really  helped!

Till next time you guys, stay tuned for more travel posts and fashion inspirations coming your way

Cheers and Lurv
