Spectacular Saigon!

Wearing

Vietnamese Traditional Dress : Ao Dai
Conical Hat : Souvenir from Vietnam
Dep Lop Sandal : Sandals made of recycled tires
Eye wear : Mango

Yet again, another amazing destination has been added on my travel list. My first impression about the country is far from what I read online... Believe me, in every places I go, I usually read about people's testimonials, most of these posts is all about warning traveler of the dangers, the pickpockets, of the ripoffs and the lasting impression about the Vietnam war. The thoughts of reading all this negativity was quite upsetting. I felt my safety was seriously at risk

Trips & Tips : European Saga

I love being able to travel and experience the many wonders of the world and discover the beauty of each countries that I've been to. Back in the day, I used to travel with a friend but due to our busy schedule and priorities, I had to travel solo and it's a totally different experience.

Rediscovering Georgia

One of the many reasons of coming back to this beautiful country is to be reunited with a special someone who also invited me to attend Mercedes Benz Fashion Week which is a huge thing in Tbilisi, in fact all over the Fashion industry.

Malaysia for the nth times!!!

I remember going to Malaysia back in 2006 when I was still a Beauty Consultant for Burberry - we held our Beauty conference attended by different Consultants across Middle East, Asia and Europe. It was very memorable for me as It was also my first time to travel in Asia.

This time around, going back to Kuala Lumpur doesn't excite me that much since I have been in this beautiful country for several times but the experience is totally different as I am with my very best friend Twinkle. From Singapore, we just took a coach to KL and it took us only 4 hours ride... It was the longest trip by land for Twinkle as she normally travels by plane in the Philippines but since it's her first time to travel abroad plus we are on a tight budget so having a bus for me is not bad at all...

The first place we visited is the spectacular Batu Caves - a limestone hill that has a series of caves in the Gombak district ,13 km north of KL and you can also see here the tallest statue ever built which is the Murugan - a hindu deity!!!

surrounded by a flock of birds

Murugan Statue

272 steps up the Cave but this monkey stops me!!!!

Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 2 Photo Shoot location : Wannabe a star???

back to KL Sentral to visit the infamous Petronas Twin Tower
and voila!!!! Keeping it Cool in Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Tower!! yay!!!

and that completes our one day tour exploring the many wonders of Malaysia - we will definitely come back but it will be on the province side for sure!!!

Looking forward for my next travel destination...

Thank you guys for your time  reading my short travel notes, until then

Cheers and Lurv

Asian Invasion

After spending two weeks holiday in Philippines last June 2014, I still have 15 days pending leave for July and the ultimate place to spend it is to a neighboring Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia before embarking into my last stop- the Philippines. You bet!! 2 weeks holiday is surely not enough to explore more than 2 countries

1st Stop - the affluent city of Singapore, where modern skyscraper enticed your eyes. coming from Middle east where the weather is ridiculously hot, Singapore's humidity can drive you mad but for a first time explorer, I can't be bothered. As a budget traveler, it is important that you plan your trip ahead of time - Singapore with a reputation of one of the most expensive countries can ripped off your budget if you don't know the cheap way to discover this place. I booked the cheapest hotel in Bugis street - the city's old Malay district and it is now largely taken by shopping, our hotel is close to the MRT station and the best and cheapest way to explore the city is through  train which is way economical than taking a cab.

strolling around Bugis street (hawkers, cheap-finds and shopping markets)

Marina Bay Sands -The newly opened Gardens by the Bay situated next to Marina Bay Sands integrated resort is a large public garden which house two huge cooled conservatories – the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest as well as a cluster of gigantic Super Trees.
Little India - a piece of India to the northern side of the city core!

Our SG trip would'nt be completed without visiting Universal Studios in Singapore
and for our final day in Singapore, we found the best spot for Couture shoot in one of the modern and futuristic schools called "La Salle" in the heart of the city.

Our 3 days trip in Singapore is truly a great experience, we were able to discover the highs and lows of the cities regardless of the smoldering weather!!! Please watch out for my upcoming post for my Malaysia stopover!!!

Thank you for your time and if you want to see more of Singapore's photos, please check out my FB link at http://www.facebook.com/butch.cervantes

Manila - A tourist in me!!!

Traditional Hat : "Salakot" from Quiapo
Top Tanks : Cotton On
Sweat pants : Cotton On
Hi Top Sneakers : Maison Martin Margiela

While on leave for almost two weeks, I haven't decided whether to go to Brazil for the FIFA World Cup or Casablanca in Morocco  for a nature trip but being a solo traveler sometimes can be scary  to visit any of these countries which has a reputation of a not so safe places to visit to - but safety issue is almost everywhere in the world , Isn't it? After spending 5 days on local leave - I finally decided to just utilize the rest of my remaining days in Manila - Thanks to a dear friend who let me use a staff ticket- that save me a fortune!

The plane arrives the next day and no single moment was wasted - first stop is we went to Quiapo -  It is a district in the bustling, busy and crowded city of Manila. Quiapo gets it name from a floating plant named; "Kiapo" that grew abundantly around that area. This place is made popular for the Quiapo church where you can see the Black Nazarene -  the statue of Jesus of Nazarene is thought to give miracles and blessings. We searched the area looking for some traditional items for my street styling shots and I was fascinated by the art pieces. See photos below;

I could say that it is definitely fun in the Philippines...

More of my upcoming Manila adventures will be posted soon. Please feel free to share any thoughts or suggestions. I am open for any feed backs :) Till next time sweethearts:)

Much Love

Hong Kong : Business with Pleasure

Its been quite a while since I last updated this page. I haven't had much time writing due to numerous task at work. Its been a pretty hectic 2nd semester of the year, I just got back from my business trip in Hong Kong for more than two months and recently been relocated in handling a new world.. Pretty Excited!

Anyway, it was a pretty challenging environment back in HK, I did not know what to expect but one thing I assured myself, I will definitely bring all my knowledge and skills and to really meet the expectation of the management. Although, it was not my first time in HK, I have flown to this city two years ago and to be back in Asia's world city is truly a great experience. As a people oriented person, It was not difficult for me to flex with different surrounding, work with different management style and handle different people. It was more like a self learning experience and I have truly devoted my time developing my fellow leaders and work on having a unified and well developed yet exceptional team!

I will always treasure the moment working with the best people in HKIA!

Meet the gorgeous staffs in DFS Hong Kong (Hong Kong International Airport)
During my off days, I get to explore the many wonders of Hong Kong

and of course, Hong Kong adventure wouldn't be completed without visiting Ocean Park - back to childhood moment with my travelling companion Christine! It's a small world after all!!!

I will see you again HK!!! Thank you HKIA for this once in a lifetime opportunity, I hope that even in a short period of time I made such a legacy that will always be treasured!
