Floral for Fall?

Can you wear Floral in the Fall? I believe the answer is "yes" provided it is not something of neon, pastel or otherwise seasonally unsuitable color patterns that shout out Summer.

Keeping it up with Burgundy

Woah! I can't believe it's been almost a year since I last posted something on my blog, excuse me for hibernating for quite a long time, I haven't had much time to really write something or perhaps I was just caught up all the time from either work and travel but most of my recent events  and fashion inspirations was posted on my Instagram

Modern Preppy Look!!!

The preppy look is basically a neat, well-balanced, put-together look that can be achieved by combining the right colors, patterns, and accessories. Over time, preppy fashion has evolved from a classic and simple look into a modern and quirky style. Looking preppy is more than just throwing a pastel polo and a boat shoes - it is emanating the aura and attitude of specific liberty lifestyle

How to look modern preppy? Here are some possible pieces to consider which I also wore during our outdoor shoot;
  • Polo shirts or Oxford shirts (replaced with a plaid button up polo)
  • cable knit vest (not on my wardrobe list)
  • cricket sweaters (replaced with a striped pullover)
  • chino pants (light green cotton chinos)
  • tassel brogue loafers (my favorite mustard color)
  • baseball cap (coach it is!)

I hope you guys like my version of preppy style'

Wardrobe Weeding is the key!!!

I have been very active on my posts recently and often times, you’ll find me showcasing my #OOTD’s or simply sharing you my #fashionspirations  (fashion inspirations outfits) either in Lookbook, Facebook or mostly in Instagram. By doing so – it also means different types of clothing’s needed!!! This is where my frustrations comes in place- The most dreadful part in choosing the clothes to wear is either I feel that the clothes is too small on my size (blame it on the extra pounds I gained!!! Grrrr!!!) or that feeling where you think you have “nothing to wear “ when you actually have a full wardrobe of clothes

I get it , sometimes we were blinded by all these enticing "SALES" we saw in the mall and most of us ended up buying things that are just kept “on hangers” – items that are not liked, does not fit properly or perhaps bought on a caprice –impulsive buyers like me can totally relate to this!!!

Then, I started to experiment my mode of dressing – de-clutter those pieces so I could see the true potential of what I have in my closet, only identify pieces that I can still be of used and filter out the rest and voila!!!! I would have never imagined that the outcome is excellent!

Think about this cropped pullover (see photo below) which I got from women's section in H&M which took me one year before I could finally used it as a layering piece for this super chic custom fit white button up which I also worn once

After clearing out my closet - I feel confident that the next time I open my walking wardrobe ( haha!! ) I am going to see something nice and are useful for my kind of style!!!

Details of today's outfit :

Cropped Pullover : H&M
Tattered Jeans : Zara
Burgundy Combat Boots : H&M
Plain Button-up : Iconic

There you have it folks:), I hope you find this post a little helpful in weeding your closet, always remember your style is unique - let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others" - Anna Wintour

Sports Luxe Style ft. Fashion Trainer!!!

Think about vests, bomber jackets and hi-top trainers/sneakers for a wearable look with the spirit of strenuosity. It's no secret that sportswear is making a big hit nowadays, everyone seemingly tossing around the term "sports luxe" banging all the way

What I love about this look is its modern, comfy and cool. Alexander Wang, to name a few have been the pioneer of the sports luxe trend and he has recently launched his sports pieces collaboration with H&M last Nov 6th which I happened to missed. (feeling gutted)

"nuff" said - Here is my version of sport's luxe style featuring my all time fave Maison Martin Margiela Le Trompe Hi Top sneakers;

with a cooling temperature now in the desert - there is no better time to embrace the sports luxe trend. The "on the go" look for an effortless yet fashionable appearance!!!

Details of today's outfit:

Bomber Jacket: Zara
Leggings : H&M
Eye wear : Emporio Armani
Sneakers : Maison Martin Margiela

I hope you like my version of sports luxe style, for inquiries and collaboration, please drop me a note at roymenor2680@yahoo.com

RUNWAY HIGHLIGHTS:
One of my favorites designers on that day was Jean Louis Sabaji- Beirut based Lebanese fashion designer with a distinctive style. The scenario Jean-Louis Sabaji planned out this season was far from being romantic; but concentrated on birds, their plumage and the skin beneath all the feathers. Another Couture masterpiece!!!

This season's finale of Day 1 program showcased the magnificent work of Cinco who utilized several elements of Swarovski crystals and  beads adorned swathes of lace, chiffon and tulle

We totally adorn the tulip skirted mini dresses in heavy lace and truly mesmerized by Cinderella-like romantic gowns in sherbet shades of yellow, green and violet.

Asian Invasion

After spending two weeks holiday in Philippines last June 2014, I still have 15 days pending leave for July and the ultimate place to spend it is to a neighboring Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia before embarking into my last stop- the Philippines. You bet!! 2 weeks holiday is surely not enough to explore more than 2 countries

1st Stop - the affluent city of Singapore, where modern skyscraper enticed your eyes. coming from Middle east where the weather is ridiculously hot, Singapore's humidity can drive you mad but for a first time explorer, I can't be bothered. As a budget traveler, it is important that you plan your trip ahead of time - Singapore with a reputation of one of the most expensive countries can ripped off your budget if you don't know the cheap way to discover this place. I booked the cheapest hotel in Bugis street - the city's old Malay district and it is now largely taken by shopping, our hotel is close to the MRT station and the best and cheapest way to explore the city is through  train which is way economical than taking a cab.

strolling around Bugis street (hawkers, cheap-finds and shopping markets)

Marina Bay Sands -The newly opened Gardens by the Bay situated next to Marina Bay Sands integrated resort is a large public garden which house two huge cooled conservatories – the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest as well as a cluster of gigantic Super Trees.
Little India - a piece of India to the northern side of the city core!

Our SG trip would'nt be completed without visiting Universal Studios in Singapore
and for our final day in Singapore, we found the best spot for Couture shoot in one of the modern and futuristic schools called "La Salle" in the heart of the city.

Our 3 days trip in Singapore is truly a great experience, we were able to discover the highs and lows of the cities regardless of the smoldering weather!!! Please watch out for my upcoming post for my Malaysia stopover!!!

Thank you for your time and if you want to see more of Singapore's photos, please check out my FB link at http://www.facebook.com/butch.cervantes

Channeling Modern Arab Boy!!!

Warm Pullover : Mango
Black Skinny Jeans : Bershka
Headscarf : Guthra

What I loved most about UAE men's traditional clothing is they looked immaculately

clean with the white kandura - or dishdash , as it is referred to by the expats, is the

long white cloak that Male Emirati wears. You will be amaze how these dress remains

crumple free all throughout the day.

I have always wanted to wear kandura but I am not sure if I could pull it off with my

strong Asian look ha ha!!! So I took the risk of wearing the headscarf instead, also known

as Guthra in Arabic term - it is usually worn along with the egal  -is the black rope that

fixes the headscarf in place.

Every little thing is beautiful in UAE and I wouldn't last a decade if I do not like this

country. I do not want to offend anyone by simply wearing their piece of clothing - it is

my way of embracing their culture and traditions...

Thank you for your time visiting this page. Please feel free to share anything - comments, suggestions, feedback!! I am open for criticisms :)

Much love
Butch
